The Spizizen transformation, as one of the most classical method, is still frequently used with good efficiencies. Although many transformation methods have been developed by optimize the conditions, rare studies have been focused on the metabolic regulation to investigate the reason for enhanced transformation under the Spizizen transformation condition. Transcriptomic comparisons were performed to discover the competence forming mechanism and the regulation pathway conducted by the BsuMI methylation modification group in Bacillus. subtilis 168 under the Spizizen transformation condition.
